Joanie's Seamless Textured Background Tile
Using-PSP 6, 7 amd 8 with Plugins

You will need the following

PaintShopPro (I use version 8 but this works in 6 and 7 also)
Simple Quick Tile Plugin  Download Here
Textureizer Plugin Download Here

If the plugins are in .zip format you will need to use a program such as WinZip (If  you need WinZip Download a trial version Here) Or another unzip program.

Unzip the plugins into you PSP Plugins Folder ( I made my own. I created a seperate folder for each Plugin)

You will need to restart your PSP for the Plugins to take effect.

If you did not have a Plugins Folder before you started this tutorial you will need to do the following steps:

1. Start PSP

2. Go To File, now go down to Preferences, now go down to File Locations

3. On the left hand side you will see File Types. With your LEFT mouse button,

click on Plug-Ins.

4. To the RIGHT of your Now Highlighted Plug-Ins you will see a white box with a couple of boxes that can be checked. (both of mine are checked and say:
C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 7\Plugins.  This is because I still have my PSP7 installed (Long Story) BUT YOU want to have yours pointing to wherever you have your Plug-Ins folder. To do this you will LEFT click Add, which will open an empty slot in the white box. Place your Left mouse button in this slot and then LEFT click on Browse.

5. Browse to wherever you have your Plugins Folder LEFT click on it and then click on Open.

6. Click OK.

7. I believe you will have to restart PSP for this change to take effect (but am not positive)

NOW WE ARE READY TO BEGIN TO MAKE A SEAMLESS BACKGROUND TEXTURE

1.  Go to File
2.  LEFT click on New
3.  Make your Image Dimensions as follows:

6.  With The Dropper Tool go to your Color Pallett and choose a color.

7.  Now LEFT click on the Flood Fill Tool (Looks Like a tipped Paint can)

8.  LEFT click on your image. It will fi;; with the color you chose.

9.  LEFT c;ick on Effects and scroll Down to Plugins and LEFT click on Texture (DO NOT CHOOSE THE TEXTURE EFFECTS THAT IS ABOVE THE PLUGINS!! This is a different effect and we will use that in a different Tutorial!!

10. Once you have clicked on Texture there will be 2 options. One is for Craquelure and the other is Texturizer. LEFT click on Texturizer.

11. You will want your settings to be set to the following:

4. LEFT CLICK QUALITY (I do not use anything other than Quality to save my images, this seems to be the best compression ratio (saves on time to load for visitors to your site)

5. Set Compression Value to 25
   Leave Save Exit Data unchecked
Chroma subsampling should be set to Default (wierd letters and numbers with the word Default behind them in Parenthesis.

6. LEFT Click OK

Your image is now a Seamless Textured Background and is saved to your computer. You can continue to use the image you have on your screen (it will not be named what you saved it as. This is the working version that you can play with now. Or you can LEFT click on the sma;; x in the top right and trash it and.
