I originally started It Shouldn't Hurt to be a Child pages due to
a 2 year old girl, here in Albuquerque, that was sexually abused by her
own mother. It made local news and was extremely horrible to anyone who
cared about children. Thank God, she was rescued by a total stranger who
happened to be walking by the mothers car and saw. To me, that unnamed
stranger was the angel. He got involved!!!
Below are my original thoughts and words on this. Even after all
these years i still cry when I read it. It makes me cry, yes but it also
helps me to remember that there are rescuers (angels, if you will) that
can and do help!!
(Note: Now, 4 years later, Baby Girl Peterman, has been adopted by
a loving family. At last report (March, 2002) she is doing well and is
very much loved by her new mommy and daddy.)

"Baby Girl Peterman"
On Friday evening, 27 March, 1998, Albuquerque,
New Mexico ABC affiliate KOAT TV, Channel 7, reported a child abuse case
that has SICKENED me.
A man was walking by a parked car and happened
to glance into the car where he noticed a woman sexually assaulting a young
child.
Thank God for this man walking by when he did!!
He rescued the 2 year old little girl from her own mother who was sexually
abusing the little one with keys.
The little 2 year old girl underwent emergency
surgery Friday afternoon to remove one of the keys from her vagina.
I have just talked to the Pediatrics ward at
the hospital where 'Baby Girl Peterman' is, and the nurse has informed
me that she is doing GREAT physically. 29 March, 1998.
Let's stop abuse of our children!!
